Great News Techie’s : Xiaomi’s ‘Mi Notebook Air’ Is On The Way
The week just got a wee bit more amazing for tech geeks! Xiaomi has launched their first ever laptop “Mi Notebook Air”!
Putting to rest the rumors that have circulating, the tech giant unveiled its first ever laptop along with Xiaomi Redmi Pro. At a public event, held in Beijing, the Chinese company stated they are gearing up to roll out two models of the Mi Notebook Air.
Specs and features:
Xiaomi advertised a 12.5-inch display Mi Notebook Air with a price tag of ¥3,999 (around Rs 40,000) and a 13.3-inch version at ¥4,999 (around Rs 50,000).
The 13.3-inch version with weight of around 1.28 kg will feature a Full High Definition 1080p display with dimensions of 309.6×210.9×148.8mm. Powered by Intel Core i5 processor the device will sport 8 GB RAM and Nvidia 940MX video card.
The 12.5-inch portable version’s display will flaunt the same basic features along with 8GB of RAM and Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU. According to Xiaomi, the gadgets will give 9.5 hour of battery life, which is impressive, indeed.
The most striking feature of the Mi Notebook Air, the one that has enamored people is its aluminum body along with its state of the art edge to edge glass protection technology. However, the display size which some feel is a trifle small has many voicing complaints. Xiaomi has confirmed that the 13.3-inch model will be 11% slimmer than their rival Macbook Air.
Both the models in body colors of silver and gold will support Mi cloud sync, which will enable users to sync their messages, contacts and more.
The emergence of a new competitor to Apple’s Macbook Air is certainly creating waves. Comparisons between Xiaomi’s latest offering and Macbook Air are doing the rounds which in turn is heating up the rat race. What new features and add-on will Xiaomi brings to the table next, is something we will just have to wait and watch!
