Facebook Birthday delight! Birthday Recap Videos Feature Launched
The social media mogul is now planning to make your birthday a little more special with their latest feature ‘Birthday Recap Videos’. These 45 seconds video clips will basically show the comments and images the user has received from his friends and family.
The only condition to receive these corny yet adorable videos is that you have to have your birth date listed on your profile page. In addition to that, at least 3 birthday wishes, or tags have to be received by the birthday boy/girl.
A sample video was uploaded on youtube, which shows a colorful cake blasting out birthday greetings and pictures that the user has received. If you are not fond of the comments and pictures highlighted in the video, you can edit the video with your favorite comments and share it with your friends.
This was a much hyped and anticipated feature from Facebook and the response has been quite amazing from media and fans alike. The birthday recap video will appear on the top of users facebook wall, similar to how you get those Good Morning messages.
Facebook surely has been paying more attention in adding new features to their website. Recently, they touted the idea and even tested offline video download. With this feature anyone can be able to download his favorite videos for offline viewing which is quite impressive, to say the least.
In addition, they recently released a Lightweight version of their app for Smartphones.
It is not the first time Facebook has attempted to push such video slideshow feature. The year in review and the Happy Friends Day videos were also past attempts by Facebook, that fizzled out.
Facebook has been doing pretty well recently, after having their most successful quarter with a profit of $2.05 billion and with a mighty 1.71 billion active users per month they surely seem to be on a roll.
Also, a recent report claimed that Facebook is running out of places to show ads, which may be true, as their ad revenue from mobile, reported by Business Insider was $5 billion in their last quarter alone. As of now, whatever new feature Facebook plans to surprise us with -only time will tell.
