Canada extends ban on direct flights from India
Canada has extended ban on flights from India but permits indirect flights.
Canada has prolonged its prohibition on direct flights from India until July 12 due to the spread of covid and an increase in cases attributable to the delta form but has allowed indirect flights.
India’s molecular report of covid19 will not be accepted by Canada. Passengers would be required to provide negative RT-PCR reports right before leaving India.
Passengers from India can take a connecting flight if they have received a narrative report from a third nation before travelling to Canada.
The advisory stated, “The Government of Canada has halted flights from India until July 21, 2021.” “Passengers travelling to Canada through an indirect route from India will need to get a pre-departure negative Covid-19 molecular test result from a third nation before continuing their journey to Canada during that time.”
If a covid positive traveller desires to fly to Canada, documentation of a positive covid test must be provided between 14 and 90 days before departure.
Canada has recommended its nationals to stay away from India unless it is necessary. India asked Canada to withdraw the restriction earlier this month.
