Fraudulent visa travel, is Immigration bureau involved?

This is unbelievable but reports are saying that passengers are helped to fly abroad and travel to foreign countries without valid papers, by the officials of the Immigration Bureau. An internal probe has been carried out meticulously and a list of passengers under suspect, who travelled on six airlines, from Delhi to other European countries has been prepared. Last week about 12 passengers with false papers were caught travelling to Abu Dhabi.

Have you heard about AH Ansari, the main accused travelling to Abu Dhabi with a fake ticket and fake documents along with 11 others? A Police official has confirmed “Ansari was part of a 12-member group which was travelling in the same manner and he was helped by airport officials to clear the immigration channel without being caught.” This is shocking news for the Immigration Bureau.

The immigration bureau is busy trying to dig out the involvement of their officials who are involved in providing fraudulent documents to these passengers going from Delhi to countries in Europe. It seems that the senior officials at the Indira Gandhi International airport had received a tip off and this was confirmed by the Immigration sources.

The department has found out about that nearly 50 passengers had travelled to Europe and Gulf via international flights. The Bureau has demanded details of the passengers and has asked for their travel history and visa details. The immigration officials are stating that “This is not a routine practice and these details have been asked to check the involvement of officials.”

A senior official of the Bureau has commented “We have asked the airlines to provide details about passengers who travelled to various countries, including UAE, Belgium and the US. We have also asked the airlines to provide details like their visa record, booking details and travel history. We have shortlisted over 50 such passengers,”

Officials have confirmed that the passenger list also includes Indian women, and the passports have been issued from UP, southern states, Punjab, and Ahmedabad. Airlines have been demanded for detailed information to keep a check on the Bureau officials who have a hand in the fraud and this has been done to put a halt to the illegal goings-on at Delhi airport.

fraudImmigration officials had found out that their personnel were clearing deceptive passengers at the airport and these people had their passports showing a blurred departure mark. Sources from the department have confirmed “We recently found that the passports of a few suspected passengers, who travelled from the IGI airport, bore a blurred departure mark. Generally, the departure mark is so clear that anyone can tell the difference between a fake and real. We also came to know that officials twisted the stamp in such a manner that nobody could read the counter number, which is mandatory to identify the official who cleared the passenger. There is hardly any manual clearance of passengers now but we are internally investigation such cases.”
