Only ten days and Rajasthan reports 22 swine flu cases
Trying times are waiting ahead for Rajasthan, as it struggles to combat the swine flu menace. An official has confirmed that in the last 10 days almost 22 people have been confirmed with the H1N1 virus and are being treated for swine flu.
Swine flu has raised its head in a big way and almost 22 cases have been reported from Rajasthan. 8 were said to be positive for swine flu in Kota, 4 have been reported in Jaipur, 4 in JHalawar, 4 in Bundi and one case tested positive in Jhunjhunu and Bikaner. The official from the medical and health department stated “Swine flu-positive cases as of Monday evening (Oc
tober 19) touched 6,791 since the start of this year in the state.”
The department has admitted to a whopping number of 2,468 cases of swine flu which have been positively confirmed in Jaipur itself, 781 have been reported in Kota , Ajmer has shown 323 and Jodhpur has accounted for 370 swine flu cases. The maximum number of cases have been reported from Jaipur, say the officials.
The officials were stunned at the rising figures and admitted that “Toll from the start of this year till October 19 due to swine flu touched 459.” The department has decided to pick up steps to control this menace and rein in the spread of swine flu. For this they have decided to carry out a survey in the area, that was said to have swine flu cases. They plan a door to door survey and talk to the people residing in that particular area. To increase the general awareness amongst the people, the State Government has also planned an awareness campaign to educate people on dengue, swine flu and malaria.
