Firefox may have finally cracked the code, as the new updates on their iOS web browser app is making internet junkie’s crazy. Mozilla’s mobile app has always struggled to gain a new audience because it never had any features or add-ons that attracted anyone.
A measly 0.58% share in Smartphone/Tablet web browser market as provided by NetMarketShare.com, they had no steam left in the tank. But with their new update, it looks like they are surely gonna give Chrome a run for its money.
With much anticipation and hope, the updates were released on Tuesday for iPhone and iPad, and the results were staggering.
So what are the new features ? Well, to begin with, the new updates makes 40% less use of your smartphone’s CPU, moreover, the memory usage has also been reduced by 30% as per Mozilla’s official blog.

lauded features that techies are going crazy over, is that you can set any of your favorite websites as your search engine. This is a pretty neat option as you can search any website directly from your address bar. Add to that battery usage has also been reduced, with many claiming they browsed the web whole day without charging their Smartphone once.
Other new features included is the new toolbar option where you can add your favorite bookmarks. Also included are, an easier to navigate tab feature, a newly designed menu for visiting your favorite websites pronto, and a slick home button.
Social media went berserk after news surfaced on the internet, as this is a long time coming for Mozilla on their iOS browser application department.
Mozilla also tweeted about their newly added features, ‘’ The latest update to Firefox for iOS gives users more speed, flexibility & choice, 3 things we care deeply about.’’
Firefox fans were salivating for a long period of time for any update on their iOS browser, and when they finally got it the response has been very positive for Mozilla.
While many believe that Opera Mini, Chrome, and Safari are still the big dogs in the Smartphone browser market. By adding these new features Mozilla has definitely got back into the rat race. Let’s just hope this is just the beginning, and there are more new features to come from Mozilla.
