Our athletes won 19 medals in tokyo paralympics making us proud.

Physical disabilities play no role in demonstrating how strong one’s mind can be in achieving a goal. Aside from any disability or problem, you can do anything you want in life. This is what the Paralympic athletes taught us by winning not only medals but also thousands of hearts and honour.

The Paralympics in Tokyo ended with India taking home 19 medals. Our athletes brought home 19 medals from the Paralympics, which were held in Rio de Janeiro. This year, 54 athletes competed in the Paralympics.

India has never won so many medals in its history, setting a new record of five golds, eight silvers, and six bronze medals at the Paralympics in Tokyo in 2021. Indian Paralympic athletes won four medals in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. India had a total medal count of 12 before the Tokyo Paralympics, but the tally now stands with pride at 31.

For our country, Indian shooters have won 5 medals, including two gold medals. Avani Lekhara, who is 19 years old, also won two shooting medals, one silver and one bronze. Paralympic athletes won four medals in the high jump, three in javelin throw, with Sumit Antil, like Neeraj Chopra, winning gold, and one medal in the discus throw.

Indian shutters Krishna Nagar and Pramod Bhagat each received one gold medal, as well as two additional medals, for a total of four medals.

Indian Paralympic athletes brought pride and honour to our country by bringing home so many medals and making us all so proud and happy. Thank you to all of the athletes for putting in the effort that has resulted in such a magnificent performance. This year’s Olympics and Paralympics have been very special and memorable for each Indian, with India having won the most medals in Paralympics history.
